  Magnetic Particle Testing

This NDT method is accomplished by inducing a magnetic field in a ferromagnetic material and then dusting the surface with iron particles (either dry or suspended in liquid). Surface and near-surface flaws produce magnetic poles or distort the magnetic field in such a way that the iron particles are attracted and concentrated. This produces a visible indication of defect on the surface of the material.

  • Raw material up to 12 mtrs length can be tested without any cutting.

  • Raw material up to 300 diameter or 300 thick can be tested.

  • Stationary Equipment unit with maximum current rating up to 6000 Amperes meets the requirements of ASTM E709 and ASTM E1444.

  • MPI crack detection for using Head shot and Coil shot.

  • MPI available with visible wet particles and Fluorescent wet particles.

  • Portable Prod and Yoke Equipments up to 2000 Amperes are used for testing of raw materials and welds in sites.

  • All MPI procedures are approved by ASNT NDT Level III.
